Continuous Epidural Morphine and Nalbuphine for Post Operative Pain Relief

Abstract
The randomized, double-blind study compared the analgesic, and complication of lumbar epidural morphine 2mg in bolus, 8mg in Daymate which is a continuous infusion pump during 48hours (group M), and nalbuphine 4mg in bolus, 16mg in Daymate(r)
(group N)
in patient after Cesarian section was done. During the postoperative 48hours, their analgesic effects were evaluated by the visual analogue scale (VAS) from 0 to 5.
@ES The results were as follows :
@EN 1) The onsets time of analgesic effect were 15-20minutes in both group.
2) The degrees of analgesia were reasonably better in group M.
3) The nausea, vomiting, and pruritus in M were more than N.
4) Urinary retention was observed only in morphine group.
In conclusion, the result of our study suggests that the epidural morphine is a better agent than nalbuphine hydrochloride by means of epidural continuous infusion pump (Daymate(r) ) though the lesser complication.
